Ruby’s Success Story
With perseverance and the help of the Healthcare Training Fund’s tuition assistance benefit, Ruby Crisostomo completed her Master of Business Administration degree while working as a registered nurse. Now, Ruby is advancing in her career in healthcare administration and management with graduate-level financial training.
As a virtual nurse leader, Ruby Crisostomo has years of hands-on experience as an advocate for patient care. With tuition assistance support from the Healthcare Training Fund, Ruby took the next step in her career and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
Ruby says her journey to her dream job in healthcare has been filled with both rewards and challenges:
“For me, nursing wasn’t just a career – it was a calling. As a Filipino American immigrant who came to this country at 18, I’ve learned that life is full of unexpected twists and turns.”
These twists and turns included undergoing a layoff from her dream job as a virtual nurse specialist. However, she did not let this challenge deter her. With perseverance and the help of tuition assistance, Ruby continued to pursue her post-secondary degree.
Now, as an MBA graduate with nursing experience and graduate-level financial training, Ruby is advancing in her career and working in healthcare administration and management:
“I am here to make a difference in others’ lives, even when the path isn’t easy. True fulfillment comes from uplifting others and leaving a lasting impact on their lives. When we focus on empowering those around us, we create a legacy that transcends material success. By making a difference in others’ lives, we give our lives deeper meaning and purpose.”
